Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalasa Academy is a forward looking CBSE affiliated institute, established in the year 1995 by respectable Baba Thakur Singh Ji, the 15th Chief of Damdami Taksal, and is based near the Gurudwara Gurudarshan Parkash Mehta Chowk Amritar. It is situated 35 KM away from Amritsar, 20 KM from Beas and 17 KM from Batala, with over 2200 students. The institute is providing very high quality education. The Institution has a quiet and environment friendly campus with attached hospital, big library, various Labs playgrounds, sports halls, hostel and best security system.
His Highness Heavenly Father Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji set up Taksals so as to preserve the noble scriptures of our great Gurus. These Taksals teach the Gursikhs the correct ways of paying obeisance to the writings of our great Gurus. Respected Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalsa, a great scholar, was the 12th chief of Damdami Taksal. In his pious memory, an Academy has been set up near the Gurudwara Gurdarshan Parkash, Chowk Mehta under the leadership of 15th Chief Baba Thankur Singh Ji. Now it’s functioning under the dynamic and precious guidance of Baba Harnam Singh Ji, the 16th Chief of Damdami Taksal in order to make a vital contribution to the society.
The Academy is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. The Academy follows the course prescribed by C.B.S.E. New Delhi. Various subjects, which are taught, are English, Punjabi, Hindi, Mathematics, General Science, Social Science, Physical Education, Political Science, History, Elective Punjabi, Art and Craft, Computer Science, Music, Divinity and General knowledge. Moral education is being imparted regularly in all classes to cultivate human and moral values in all students.
We at Khlasa Academy are determined and working wholeheartedly to dispel the darkness of ignorance, for the spread of knowledge, to bring perfection in wisdom. We shall endeavour to enlighten the young minds with quality and excellence, and to bridge the gap between word and deed.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
It is a matter of pride for us that the process of education is made a systematic means of learning to inculcate basic mental abilities & skills in students. Our aim is to bring out the creative potential of the seekers of knowledge to its full bloom and help them to acquire a human temper in thought & action so as to develop competence for effective participation in day-to-day situations. Their sense of initiative and self-confidence is kindled and encouraged to help them grow up as hardworking individuals and responsible citizens enabling them to learn how to establish good human relationship, imbibe virtues of moral courage and social discipline. Utmost emphasis is laid on nurturing scientific temper and reasoning in students. Their spiritual tenderness and sensibility is groomed through a living contact with Gurbani and Sikh History as a way of life.
THE CURRICULUM
The curriculum for all the classes is as per the requirements of the CBSE. The following subjects are compulsory upto X std. Level:
- English, Punjabi, Hindi (Three languages upto VIII Std and two from IX Std. upward.)
- Mathematics
- General Science
- Social Studies
- Computer (From Nursery upward)
ADMINISTRATIVE SET-UP
To ensure administrative efficiency, the school has been organized into four sections: Primary, Middle, High and Secondary with a separate Nursery Wing for tiny tots. Each section is looked after by a Co-ordinator under the overall guidance of the Principal. The Number of Children in each class is kept within a manageable limit so that each student can be paid adequate and individual attention. Particular stress is laid on the development of conversational and reading abilities of the child before he or she proceeds to acquire writing skills. The school has fully qualified and experienced teachers, conversant with modern educational techniques and well-versed in general education.
